Erection of the battlefield Signs Within Lane Friday 16th October 2009

Jeff &  Jan Elson, Chris Ecclestone,Phil Moss, Terry Walpole and Cllr Len Bloomer visited the site of the newly erected signs to at Within Lane to direct visitors to the site of Hopton Heath battlefield, on Friday afternoon on the 16th October 2009. There are theee sets of signs, one at either end of Within Lane and one in the centre.

Information about the West Midlands Branch of the Military Historical Societies efforts to raise a monument and interpretation panel to the English Civil War battle of Hopton Heath that was fought on the afternoon of Sunday 19 March 1642/3, and to try to establish an annual re-enactment / living history type event on the nearby Stafford County showground.
